On May 6, 2016, the International Press Center (IPC) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a briefing for Chinese and foreign media on the South China Sea issue. Director-General of the Department of Boundary and Ocean Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Ouyang Yujing was invited to introduce the Chinese government's policy and stance on the South China Sea issue, and answered questions from the journalists over issues including the South China Sea arbitration unilaterally initiated by the Philippines and China's construction on Nansha islands and reefs.
