Dear Journalists,

The 2nd International Seminar on Counter Terrorism will be held on December 22ndby China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations(CICIR) at Crowne Plaza Chaoyang U-Town, Beijing. The theme of the seminar is “New Situation, New Threats, New Challenges to Counter Terrorism and New Joint Response Measures”. The seminar will be organized in a hybrid way(both physical and online).A keynote speech will be delivered by Assistant Foreign Minister H.E.Mr. Wu Jianghao. Senior officials，heads of counter terrorism agencies, leading experts and scholars from Afghanistan,Algeria, Brazil,China, Egypt,France,Indonesia,Kazakhstan,Malaysia,Pakistan,Russia,South Africa,Syria, Tajikistan,the United States, the UK and the UAE will attend the event and give speeches online.

The seminar is open to the media, consisting of an opening ceremony, three parallel panels and a closing session. Foreign media based in Beijing wishing to cover the seminar are kindly requested to apply by email no later than 15:00 on December 20th(Monday), 2021. We will inform the registered journalists on email or by phone about further arrangements. 

Journalists who have successfully signed up should make sure having not been outside the Chinese mainland in the past 28 days and having not been to high or medium-risk regions in China in the past 14 days. Also, negative nucleic acid test certificate within 48 hours, health codeand travel code should be presented while entering the venue.
