Coverage of Public Emergency Incidents

In case of public emergency, the Chinese government or governing authorities concerned will release relevant information in a timely manner, introduce the latest development of the emergency, report the progress in dealing with the emergency, the measures taken by the government and the protective measures for the public so as to provide the media with timely information.

The Chinese government or governing authorities concerned will implement temporary control measures to keep order and security at the place where an emergency occurs, such as setting up a security zone, taking traffic or on-the-spot control measures. To make on-site reporting of public emergency, foreign journalists shall follow the instructions of the authorities and not obstruct related staff to execute their duties.

For foreign journalists who make on-site reporting of public emergency, please take care of your own safety. In case of any danger, please immediately ask for help from local FAOs, on-site security or rescue staff.
