The 2023 Understanding China Conference will be held from December 1st to 3th, 2023, in Guangzhou. The Conference is hosted by the China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy (CIIDS), the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, and is organized by the People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipality.

At present, the world is embroiled in major changes of unseen in a century. How to gain a sober understanding and grasp of the risks and challenges facing us and move the world continuously towards peaceful development and community of shared future based on convergence of interests and community of interests is a task of vital importance for China and the world alike. With the theme of "China's New Endeavors Amid Unprecedented Global Changes - Expanding the Convergence of Interests and Building a Community of Shared Future", this conference invites guests from home and abroad to have in-depth exchanges of the profound connotation of Chinese modernization and modern civilization of the Chinese nation, and interpret the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative and Global Civilization Initiative. We hope to convey to the international community positive messages regarding China's commitment to high-quality development, high-level opening-up and deepening reform, so as to boost the confidence of countries around the world in jointly expanding convergence of interests and building a community of shared future, and help the international community better understand the CPC and China in the new era.

All sessions, including the opening ceremony, keynote speeches, parallel sessions and thematic forums, are open to the media except the closed-door session.
